RunGHT Project

Project Goal

The RunGHT project aims to achieve something long considered impossible — to run the entire Great Himalaya Trail (GHT) along its High Route across Nepal, in a record time of approximately 50 days.
I plan to take on this exceptional challenge in 2027, not only to test the limits of my physical and mental endurance, but also to draw attention to the raw, awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayas.

Through the RunGHT challenge, I want to emphasize the importance of preserving these majestic mountains and to promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
The project is also an attempt to combine my passion for mountain running with a deep respect for the culture and traditions of the region, and with the intention to share this passion and knowledge with others.

By carrying out this ambitious undertaking, I hope to inspire others to seek out their own challenges and explore the unknown — to show that with determination and the right preparation, even the most seemingly unreachable goals can be achieved.

Schedule

2025:
October: Reconnaissance of the eastern and most demanding section of the route, covering the regions of Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Everest, and Rolwaling.

2026:
Reconnaissance of the wild, western section of the trail in the regions of Dolpo, Mugu, and the Far West.

2027:
Autumn: Execution of the main RunGHT project.

The Route

The RunGHT project is an ambitious undertaking aiming to run the entire Great Himalaya Trail (GHT) in its so-called High Route version across Nepal. The route, spanning approximately 1,700 kilometers, traverses the most spectacular and demanding sections of the Himalayas, starting at Kanchenjunga Base Camp, passing through Makalu, Lhotse, and Everest, and continuing through the Annapurna and Manaslu regions all the way to the Indian border.

This extraordinary challenge offers not only the chance to witness the raw beauty and grandeur of the world’s highest mountains but also to immerse oneself in the rich culture and traditions of the region. One of the most iconic and difficult parts of the trail is Sherpani Col, a mountain pass located at over 6,000 meters, which marks the highest point of the entire route.

Crossing this section requires exceptional physical fitness, the ability to adapt to extreme high-altitude conditions, and a strong sense of determination and mental resilience. Throughout the challenge, participants will experience a stunning diversity of landscapes — from lush green valleys and rocky mountain paths to snow-covered peaks and glacial fields.

Each stage of the RunGHT route is not only a physical trial but also a profound cultural journey, offering the opportunity to engage with the daily life and ancient traditions of local communities who have lived in harmony with these majestic mountains for centuries.

Support and Development of the Project

The support and development of the RunGHT project are essential to its success, with active efforts to secure both financial and logistical backing forming a core part of the initiative. The project is open to a wide range of collaborations, including corporate sponsorships and individual donations through crowdfunding platforms. Every contribution, regardless of its form, is invaluable and directly contributes to the realization of this ambitious undertaking.

We are also planning the publication of a book titled Through the Himalayas, which will document the entire journey and the experiences tied to the project. This book will serve both as a source of inspiration and a lasting memento for all those interested. Maintaining a blog and a dedicated website will allow for real-time updates and help build a community around RunGHT.

A key aspect of the project is the active use of social media to share progress, document challenges and successes, and engage the wider public in dialogue and support. Regular updates on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook will help spread awareness of the project and its goals while also fostering a strong and committed community.

Another important component of the project is cooperation with experienced Polish mountaineers and travelers, whose advice and knowledge will be invaluable in achieving the project’s goals.

RunGHT is a dynamic and evolving initiative, open to change and adaptation as it progresses and new insights are gained. Through consistent activity on social media, as well as through promotional and educational efforts, the project not only seeks support but also aims to inspire others to pursue their dreams and set ambitious goals of their own.

The Significance of the Project

The RunGHT project carries profound significance on both an individual and a societal level. Its realization is not only a sporting challenge, but also a meaningful contribution to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the passion for mountain running, and a deeper understanding and respect for the culture and environment of the Himalayas. Completing the entire High Route of the Great Himalaya Trail in Nepal within 50 days represents not only a test of endurance and determination but also an opportunity for deep connection with the natural and cultural richness of this extraordinary region.

The project aims to inspire others to seek out their own challenges and explore the unknown, demonstrating that with proper preparation and commitment, even the most ambitious goals are attainable. Furthermore, RunGHT holds educational and environmental significance, emphasizing the need to protect the fragile Himalayan ecosystem and promoting sustainable development in the region. Through interactions with local communities and the sharing of experiences, the project seeks to raise awareness about the uniqueness and value of these remote areas.

In the longer term, RunGHT has the potential to become a platform for further initiatives focused on environmental protection, responsible tourism, and the promotion of a healthy and active lifestyle. Ultimately, RunGHT aims to build a strong and engaged community around mountain running and Himalayan adventure—bringing together people with shared interests and passions. It’s an opportunity to foster lasting relationships, exchange knowledge, and collectively pursue exceptional goals.
